We're here!!

We made it safely and are slowly settling in. I've managed to snap a few photos.

What I love so far...

Waking up to breezy mornings to this view outside our bedroom window.

Walking to dinner

The beach only a 30 minute drive away

Morning walks at this nearby park

Our formal dining room turned playroom. We're very much casual people and have never had a formal dinner or own china. But even more importantly, my very busy belly crawler has sheer determination and almost made it out to the back porch so I'm very happy to keep them and the toys contained in one area. :)

What I miss...

Our driveway and garage. I just can't get used to the basement yet. And the driveway here is only wide enough for tandem parking meaning we park in a single file and play "musical chairs" with our cars

Visiting family

We were fortunate to see our families one last time before leaving. It's such a good feeling to be all together when we're able. The girls really enjoyed seeing everybody too. We appreciate your warm welcome and well wishes. Thank you. We will see you very soon.

Farewell

As our moving date approaches I realize just how much I am going to miss my dear friends who have been there along every step of the way with me in my first years through motherhood. I also realize my girls will no longer enjoy playdates with their children; I will not see those children grow up through the years before my eyes, and they will not grow up together as childhood friends. My friends, how I wish I could take you with me or be in two places at once. I will truly miss you. I hope you know how much of a difference you've made in my life as a mother. Thank you!!

Niagra Falls

The girls have been keeping me quite busy these days and so I am just now blogging about our vacation. Omar had a poultry conference in Niagra Falls, Ontario. Believe it or not hundreds of Doctors gather at this convention and talk about all things poultry. Marisa and I decided to join him on the trip and had a great time. Elena stayed home with her Grandma F and enjoyed her company greatly. I missed Elena dearly and everytime I saw something I would think, "Oh Elena would have loved to see that!" But don't worry if your feeling sorry for her missing out. She also made it to this Canadian conference 2 years ago and Marisa was no where in sight. (you can see those pictures below)
