Changes

I found pictures of our house as it was being built. I wanted to post them here and compare to the current pictures.

Moving

My good friend Anna from California gave me the card with the picture above when we were leaving CA and headed for Texas. I found it the other day and I couldn't help but feel what I felt back then. We were leaving a wonderful place. It was our first home as a married couple, and although I knew the place we were going (here) very well, I still felt sadness for what we were leaving behind. How appropriate to have found the card now as we embark on another chapter in our lives. By now most of you know that Omar has accepted a job in the Boston area and we are officially moving again. I am excited about living in a different environment and about the new experiences that come along with it, and although moving to a new place without family or friends always comes with apprehension, I know that it also comes with knowledge, opportunity, new friendships, and adventure. Who knows what awaits us. While moving here we never knew we'd start our family. Now we have two wonderful girls. I had no clue I'd meet wonderful friends to help me and support me through motherhood. I didn't know I'd gain so much and have to let it go in part. But it's the friendships and memories that stay forever, and for that I am thankful.

weekend

We drove up to Dallas to visit my sister-in-law. On the way back we passed a town with this grocery store that I couldn't help but take a picture of. It's not too often I see my name somewhere. Anyway, just thought it would be fun to post that. Diana also got some great pictures of the family. So great I can't post them because I may use use one of them for our Christmas picture. I don't know how or when someone will be able to take a family picture again. But I won't tease so here's one of just us and a couple I took of the girls.
Sleepy faces and funny faces.

Big girl

My baby girl is not a baby anymore. I guess it's been that way for a while, but I see it more and more each day. She is officially out of the crib and in her bed. It was a very smooth transition, and I am glad we waited until she was ready. To celebrate the occasion we went ahead and finished up her room by adding a few more things. She was very excited about the flower lamp she received after sleeping in her bed for a week. Hooray Elena!!

These days Elena is avoiding the camera. Meanwhile I'm taking advantage by shooting pictures of this little one who will sooner or later want to avoid it too.Yummy!
